.WV - WavPack lossless compression
This format is well suited e.g. for compressing important archive data without loosing any quality - for more info (including player plug-ins), see http://www.wavpack.com/.
Notes:
- The WavPack format also allows for lossy .WV files - these can be read just like any other .WV file but there is not support for writing them. There exists also .WVC 'correction files' that may accompany a lossy file and allow them together to be decoded losslessly - this is done automatically if a .WV file is accompanied by a .WVC file of the same name.
Features:
- 8/16/24/32-bit PCM, 32-bit floating point, lossless compression, multi-channels, gain adjustment (Replay Gain), text metadata.
